VOLUNTEER

Patient Role Players

As in our training courses, we aim to give our competitors a high-fidelity scenario within which to utilize their skills and earn points as a team. To achieve this, we rely on community volunteers to instruct to perform as patient role players.

Role players arrive before the commencement of the competition to change into provided cut clothes, have moulage applied to realistically simulate wounds, and receive their patient profile before being led to the scenario location at the venue.

Each team member will have judge shadowing them and the judge will provide any feedback the competitor needs. The patient actor just gets to have fun and that - act! Our primary focus is the safety of our volunteers, staff, and competitors, but we also encourage everyone to have some fun while out in the field.

Volunteers will be overwhelmingly thanked, given a competition shirt, and fed during the event. They will also be given access to our Saturday Training Day. During our training day, volunteers will have the opportunity to participate in hands-on skill stations, MCI lectures, and a cadaver lab!
